History

Kill Tony began at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles in 2013, created and hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe with Brian Redban. The first episode in this archive was released on Jun 14, 2013. It started as a live comedy podcast built around an open sign-up and a bucket of names.

The format gives selected comedians one uninterrupted minute on stage. Tony, Brian, and the episode's panel guests then interview the comedian. Regulars, golden-ticket winners, and other invited performers also appear alongside the bucket pulls.

After its years at the Comedy Store, the show relocated from Los Angeles to Austin in 2021. It played Austin venues before making the Comedy Mothership its home in 2023.

792 episodes have been released since the beginning. The busiest year in the archive was 2019, with 108 episodes. In every full year since 2021, the show released between 52 and 56 episodes, roughly one a week. The live audience, touring arena dates, and online episode releases have carried the format far beyond its original room.

This archive keeps the episode history searchable by preserving each lineup, the people on it, and the minute each recorded set began.

Together, those records show how a small live-room experiment became a long-running weekly record of new and returning stand-up comedians.
